October Workshop Recap: Skills and Smiles!

Last month, we focused on two key areas: safety and supporting the children we work with. Thanks to everyone who participated in these valuable sessions!

🩹 First Aid: Ready for Anything!

Our First Aid Course was a huge success. We all learned essential, hands-on skills to handle unexpected emergencies. This comprehensive training covered not only core techniques like CPR (for adults and children) and managing an unconscious casualty, but also how to quickly treat bleeding, burns, and choking.

Knowing these steps makes a huge difference. It's about feeling confident and prepared to act fast—a fantastic, lifesaving skill for work and everyday life!

🗣️ Supporting Children's Speech Development

We had a highly valuable session with a Pediatric Speech Therapist. This workshop was specifically focused on how to understand and support the children's speech development.

Key topics included:

Identifying Concerns: How to spot common signs of a speech or language delay or difficulty.

Early Support: Simple ways we can help a child's speech develop day-to-day.

Bilingualism (Duolanguage): Tips for understanding and supporting children who are learning two languages at once.

This training helps us provide the best support and know when to recommend next steps if we spot a potential issue.
